Gary Johnson saw the return of three key players available for selection, however he did not introduce any of them until the second half. Steve Thomson had another excellent game in midfield, the Doncaster forwards were a real handful, it was just as well Justin Jackson was sidelined.
The first chance for Yeovil came after only two minutes. Gary Johnson's men had obviously perfected the move in training, it completely undid the Doncaster defence. Three Yeovil players were unmarked ready for a shot on goal, but somehow it was saved by Warrington.
The remainder of the half was a war of attrition. Another good chance for Yeovil came from the free kick opportunity, but McIndoe hit it high over the bar. Chris Weale was also forced to make a couple good saves, although he did most of his work catching in the air from corners. His dominance was much appreciated by the home crowd, who knew they were going to have to dig in as half time approached.
In the second half, Doncaster came out and dominated, throwing caution to the wind. They took the lead just before the hour through former Halifax striker Jamie Paterson. Chris Weale made a great save from a crashing drive, but Paterson was there to follow up neatly and celebrate with the visiting fans. (0-1).
Doncaster deserved to be 2-0 up as they caught Yeovil again flapping. This time Gareth Owen hit a screaming shot which would have been a contender for goal of the season. Chris Weale was beaten, but fortunately for Yeovil the crossbar came to the rescue. The Yeovil bench had seen enough, and two straight midfield substitutions took place. The return of Tom White was marked with a good welcome from home supporters.
Carl Alford then missed a great chance to pull the scores level. He dragged himself away from his marking defender and it looked to be a straightforward volley. Instead the ball bounced awkwardly somewhere and went over the bar. It brought the home fans calling for his substitution, and Gary Johnson duly obliged by swapping him for Chris Giles.
Time was beginning to run out, and Yeovil were finding it hard to break down the Doncaster defence. The equaliser did finally come, but it was scrappy at that. The ball found itself to Michael McIndoe through a crowd of players. He shot low through the crowd to pull the scores level. (1-1)
Doncaster pressed forward from the restart, but Yeovil could have got a second goal after a mix up between the Doncaster defence. Chris Giles calmly prodded the ball towards the open goal, but it slowed down on the heavy pitch surface and stopped on the line. The Doncaster defender came across just in time and lashed the ball into the stand.
A point was a fair result, Doncaster are the draw specialists, but they came to Huish Park and played some attractive, impressive football. Their defence looked well organised, and Yeovil never looked like breaking it down until the final moments. Telford visit Huish Park next week, Jake King's side have had something of a reform since the start of the season, and will be no easy ride.
